Great and noble citizens of Bude! Aren't you tired of having an email address ending with your internet service provider’s dull old name? Wouldn't you rather have your email address reflect the wonderful town where you live, so you can show your pride in your homeland? Yes, of course you would, huzzah!

For as little as £3.99 a year you can have your very own BudeMail email address. You get to choose the name you want and, because this service will only be used by residents of Bude, there’s little chance of the name being taken. No longer will you be known to the world as John16583009! Instead you could choose, for example, john.smith@budemail.co.uk or giles.p.unhorses@budemail.co.uk or whatever you like. Remember the cool email address you wanted but couldn't have because it was already taken. Now it can be yours at BudeMail.

Only £3.99 a year buys you your BudeMail email address. A special family pack of four email addresses is currently available for only £5.99 a year, which really is a very good deal!

Perhaps you don't think Bude is cool enough for you, or maybe you'd rather not make it too obvious where you live. In either case you don't have to use the budemail.co.uk domain name. On request we can set up a brand new domain name just for you that only you get to use.

The registration process is quick and easy and can be done over the phone, by email or you can come into the shop and we'll register your new personal email account right then and there.

BudeMail email accounts are easy to set up.
You can download our PDF instruction sheet which has step by step instructions on how to configure Outlook Express, the standard Windows email program, to use a BudeMail email address. If you don't have the time or the inclination to configure the software yourself, then bring your PC to us and we'll configure your email software for you for only £4.99.

You can download the Adobe Reader application for free from Adobe

We also provide a WebMail service where you can log into any BudeMail account using nothing more than a web browser, your account name and password.

With webmail you can log into your BudeMail account from anywhere: Work, School, the Library, a Cyber Café or your friend's house - your email will follow you wherever you go.

All you need to do is remember your login and password, come to www.budemail.co.uk and click on the link!

Email Addresses

Email addresses are made up of the "local part" and the domain of the address. Example: budemail.co.uk is one of the domains we offer email addresses on. The local part is the actual name, or address of the email account, e.g. in joe@budemail.co.uk the 'joe' is the local part. The '@' is simply used to separate the local part and the domain, and obviously the whole email address can be read as "joe at BudeMail dot co dot uk".

When setting up a BudeMail account, you are free to choose any address (local part) you want, as long as its not already in use on the domain you desire. However there are a few rules regarding what is and isn't an allowed email address. Addresses must begin with a letter or a number and can include letters, numbers and the following symbols: "-", "_" or ".". Do note that two dots in a row is not allowed. so "joe..brown@budemail.co.uk" is no good, but "joe.brown@budemail.co.uk" is fine. Please note that "letter" in this situation means lower case, and that accented characters are not allowed.

It is also possible to request a custom domain for your account e.g. to have "joe@mydomain.co.uk", the rules for domain names are more restrictive; use only letters, numbers and the dash ("-") symbol. The same definition of "letter" applies. Please also note that the domain you request may already be in use by someone else, and that this is (obviously) out of our control; we will work with you to find a suitable and available domain.
